Set backs

Here we are, 4 weeks in and I'm already hitting setbacks. I was sick again yesterday. Woke up feeling HORRIBLE. achy, sick to my stomach, not good. And it was my son's 4th b-day and HE was sick. So I didn't bother exercising or weighing in. Feeling a little better today, but I think I will still take it easy and start up again tomorrow. At least, I haven't been eating a bunch of junk as well. So that's something right?

Check in

Thanks for the support and well wishes, you guys rock! I actually did get some wii time in on Saturday with the kids. Not as much as I'd usually do, but some. I felt horrible yesterday--still sick. Last night I tool some Theraflu and had a good night's sleep and this morning feel okay. Not great, but better than before. So that is something.

I did go a little lax on eating good over the weekend. Guess my ability to make healthy decisions was impaired by the head cold. So I did weigh in this morning with a 0.8 lb gain at 9am. But my early mornings start again tomorrow when the kids go back to school, so I think I will weigh in again tomorrow morning and see how it compares since my normal weigh in is usually 6am or earlier.

After measuring, I am down 2 1/4 in. from last week, so that is something. Here's to a better, healthier week.

Blah

So this is the first weekday in 3 weeks that I haven't got up and exercised. I'm coming down with a cold and I feel yucky. The kids are off school today, so I'm sure as soon as I get the scrapbooking project done that I HAVE to have done tonight for a class, I will get out the wii fit and at least get some exercise in. Maybe it will help to get that blood flowing and get the germies out of my system!

I will be drinking LOTS of water to help flush me out. Here's to an enjoyable 4 day weekend...

Monday Monday

So I decided I would do my weigh-in on Mondays since I have the most time in the (early) morning on Mondays. SO....I am down 4 pounds!! Hooray!

Also, this weekend I found a new resource of information, motivation, and just good fat loss info...crazy story about how I came across it goes like this:

I joined facebook about 3 months ago and immediately started finding friends from my past that I've wondered about for years. It is really fun to reconnect. I would recommend it for anyone looking to reconnect with old friends--there are so many people on there. Anyway...there was one person who I found through friends that I wasn't sure I was ready to add yet. My ex-boyfriend, who happened to be super fit when we dated (3% body fat) and I wasn't so bad myself back then. Anyway, I was nervous about adding him, since I could tell from some of the pics I saw that he was still in great shape.

Well, I closed my eyes and clicked the "add friend" link and waited anxiously over the next 24 hours to see if he'd accept. (The great part about being the one requesting is that they have to be first one to write a message--at least technically) So, I checked back on Sunday and he had accepted and sent a message. He was, of course, super nice (we ended amicably--mostly) and I browsed through his profile.

I found a link he posted to burnthefat.com and went to read about it. I majored in Health & PE in college and have come across some pretty crazy programs as well as great, valid programs. So I started reading and reading (there was LOTS to read) and it was all making sense. It isn't a program that you have to buy their supplements to be successful or anything. It gives you lists of what food are good to eat, and what isn't. It explains the importance of Weight loss VS fat loss and how to achieve the right one. Why dieting doesn't work for long term fat loss.

It all made sense and I am excited to incorporate this new knowledge into my BL plan. I have some info if you'd like me to share it...otherwise you can purchase the e-book yourself.

Here's to losing!

This time is different

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has tried to lose weight before and....failed. BUT this time is different.

This time, I am exercising. Even enjoying the exercise. Novel idea, I know. I have been exercising everyday and food wise I have not deprived myself anything. I choose smaller portion sizes and stop BEFORE I'm full. I use smaller plates for our meals, and eat my veggies first.

I was already working towards fitness when I found out about this challenge and was so excited to be able to jump in and have a group of cyber-friends to help encourage me and keep me motivated.

This time...success!

Motivation

I'm on board! I'm in it to win it! {Insert another motivational quote here}

This year, I turn 30. I've had 3 kids and kept on about 10 pounds from each of them. Thanks guys! What can I say, they're givers.

So this is the year...for fitness. And skinny jeans. And Hawaii. (DH has promised a trip to Hawaii when I've reached my goal weight.) So here we go...hold on for a fantastic fitness ride.

I got a wii Fit for Christmas and have been on it for at least 30 minutes EVERY day (excluding Sunday-my day of rest) since. I'm working up momentum and I'm so excited to keep going.
